AN EARLY AUTUMN EDIT w/ JEAN + COOK

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of getting together with Edra of Jean + Cook Shop to shoot some fun new content for her newest vintage collection over croissants & coffee. The collection consists of beautiful and minimal vintage handbags, chic enamel earrings, delicate vintage lace dresses and a pair of patent Prada heels. Photographing the collection was effortless because literally everything is so gorgeous and easy to style! Edra has rounded up a few of her favorite new pieces from the collection for you to shop here and has kindly answered a few questions I had for her to share with all of you!

A Little About Edra

“I currently live in Henrico County with my wife of 8 years, our youngest son and our big baby, our Great Dane, Blue. At home I have my studio upstairs and my mobile shop in our backyard. My home is my happy place. It’s where I start and end my days slowly and peacefully - something that’s very important to me.”

WHAT INSPIRED JEAN + COOK?

“Those closest to me. Thrifting, styling, taking pretty pictures and visiting beautiful spaces have always been things that I enjoyed and have always done. I never thought of creating a business from these hobbies until it was suggested by others. Jean + Cook has become a way to share my talents and create beautiful experiences for a broader audience.”


WHERE DO YOU GET INSPO FOR CREATIVE PROJECTS?

“I’m honestly most inspired when I’m resting and just living my life and not necessarily thinking of creating.  Life inspires me. I do my best work when I’m not trying so hard. There’s inspiration everywhere, all around us in those little in between moments each day. You have to pay attention to those moments. They make life beautiful.”


What are your favorite items to source for the shop?

“Accessories for sure! I love jewelry & handbags. I think they make an outfit. I love wearing my fanciest bags with the most casual outfits.”

“If you notice, the items that I source for the shop are for those everyday moments that I spoke of earlier. They don’t require a special occasion. They’re intended to make the simple moments even more special. That’s my overall intention for Jean + Cook.”


What are your dreams for the shop in the next 3 years?

“To have a brick and mortar. I can’t wait!”

“More collaborations. I would love to create custom pieces with other brands and businesses that I admire”
